10th Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomy 2018: the best chefs in the world

This year the 10th Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica 2018 adopts the motto Mexico, thank you for so much! and will have the presence of the most important figures of gastronomy in the world.


Under the motto: Mexico, thank you for so much!, Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica 2018 will have its most special edition, with its main venue in Riviera Nayarit, celebrating 10 uninterrupted years of being one of the must-see events on the international gastronomic agenda.

In a press conference held at the Hard Rock Hotel, it was reported that this edition, to be held from October 14 to 18 in Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta, will be attended by 48 chefs with 14 Michelin Stars and 18 Repsol Suns, in addition to featured chefs in the 50 Best Latin America and Top Chefs in Mexico and other countries.

Showcookings, Premium tastings, gourmet workshops, "gastronomikids", tastings, expo area, panel of experts, pairing dinners and other special activities will be part of this event, all within the framework of the centennial of Puerto Vallarta and the 10th anniversary of Riviera Nayarit.

For this anniversary edition it will have Chihuahua and Guanajuato as guest states; Furthermore, Guadalajara has been chosen as the guest city. Aeroméxico will be the official airline.

The press conference was led by: Carlos Elizondo and Consuelo Elipe, directors of E-Consulting and creators of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica, who thanked the media for spreading the word about this event that reinvents itself year after year, with the commitment to disseminate gastronomy without losing his educational vocation.

Also present, Gina Méndez, Sales Director of Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta; Cynthia Almasa, Director of Public Relations for ¡Ah Chihuahua!; Ludwig Estrada Virgen, regional director of the Jalisco Ministry of Tourism; Ana Cecilia Llanos, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Nayarit; Javier Aranda Pedrero, director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust and Marc Murphy, general director of the Bahía de Banderas Association of Hotels and Motels (AHMBB) and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (OVC).

Important economic benefit

Carlos Elizondo, co-director of the event, informed that the participation of more than 10,000 attendees and an economic income of more than 30 million pesos are expected, which represents a growth of 13% compared to the previous year.

One of the objectives, he added, is to strengthen the Bay of Banderas (Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit) as a world-class gastronomic destination par excellence.

“Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit have distinguished themselves as one of the places with the greatest gastronomic importance in Mexico. It is a kitchen that is always thriving, full of proposals, and with great quality in the products they offer to delight the most demanding palates from all over the world in any season of the year”, he stated.

Among the chefs who will participate are Roberto Ruíz, who has 1 Michelin star and 2 Repsol suns; Lula Martin del Campo, Fernanda Prado, Eduardo Palazuelos; chefs who are part of the Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants list, such as Gerardo Vazquez Lugo; even internationals such as the Spanish Ángel León, who has 3 Michelin stars and 3 Repsol suns; Andoni Luis Aduriz with 2 Michelin stars and 3 Repsol suns.

Anything else…

On this tenth anniversary, a tribute will be made to the career of Susana Palazuelos, for a lifetime dedicated to gastronomy, with the presence of chef Inés Páez Nin, "Chef Tita", Master Chef jury in the Dominican Republic and highest representative of the cuisine of that Caribbean country. Ramón Dios, from Spain, will also be present, who will give a gastrocoaching workshop.

The world of wine and spirits will also bring the latest news and products with its Sommeliers, Mixologists, Producers and Ambassadors, while the Pairing Dinners will once again be a unique showcase of the creations of the invited and local chefs.

Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica would not be complete without Gastronomikids, which was born in 2016 to stay and support the most disadvantaged children, as part of the social responsibility program, through the love for gastronomy.

Without a doubt, the 10th anniversary of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica will mark a before and after in gastronomic events, an unmissable event on the world gastronomic agenda.
