Brilliant Lady, the new luxury cruise ship that will arrive in Puerto Vallarta in 2026

The arrival of Brilliant Lady promises a significant boost to local tourism. The Virgin Voyages cruise will depart from Los Angeles and will include Puerto Vallarta in its itinerary.

The Brilliant Lady cruise ship, currently under construction for Virgin Voyages, will begin sailing from Los Angeles in spring 2026, with Puerto Vallarta as one of its featured destinations. This news represents an important achievement for the Jalisco Ministry of Tourism and the Puerto Vallarta Trust, who have worked hard to promote the destination.

From April 8 to 11, the Trust participated in Seatrade Cruise Global 2024, an event that brought together more than 10,000 attendees and 600 exhibitors from 120 countries at the Miami Beach Convention Center, consolidating Puerto Vallarta's position on the international tourist map.

The Brilliant Lady, with a length of 912 feet and capacity for more than 2,700 passengers, will be an impressive cruise ship with 17 decks, 20 restaurants, modern technological cabins and exclusive designer suites. "The fact that Virgin Voyages is adding a new luxury vessel for its journey to Puerto Vallarta is excellent news for our destination," said Vanessa Pérez Lamas, Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco.

The cruise ship is being built in Italy and will make its official debut when it departs New York in September 2025. After ports of call in Miami and through the Panama Canal, it will head to the Pacific Ocean, arriving in Los Angeles in April 2026. It will offer five- to eight-night itineraries, including visits to Puerto Vallarta, Baja California, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Francisco and Catalina Island. This event will mark the first time Virgin Voyages has sailed in the Pacific Ocean.

According to the National Port System Administration (Asipon), from January to May of this year, Puerto Vallarta welcomed 267 thousand passengers aboard 90 cruise ships, consolidating its position as a key destination on the Mexican Riviera route. The arrival of Brilliant Lady promises to boost tourism even further, reaffirming Puerto Vallarta as one of the most attractive and welcoming ports in the Pacific.
