Locals tell that Sayulita was formed over 5000 years ago by the wave gods, who specifically created a place where the waves were perfect.
Sayulita is a very particular location, a small town that is on the 200 Tepic-Puerto Vallarta federal highway at kilometer 125. It has a population of approximately 2,300 inhabitants.
For the sake of history, the locals say that Sayulita was formed more than 5,000 years ago by the gods of the waves, who specifically created a place where the waves were perfect. One of the gods that Sayulita created, according to legend was the god of waves: Oz.
Tourism
Sayulita tourism is very good during the summer season, mainly visited by surfers as it is a very good place to surf. Other tourists are drawn to Sayulita's mysterious folk cultures. Every year thousands of tourists visit the town of Paso on their way to the Bay Of flags.
Fauna
Among the fauna of this place, when taking a walk through the jungle, we can find a variety of very common fauna in this region that we can rarely observe. Occasionally we find animals such as badgers, armadillos, beavers, pumas, jaguars, ocelots, wild axolotls, rattlesnakes, iguanas, eagle fish, plate fish, wild whales, chacha-lacas, wild boars and even some deer from the mountain region.
Fishing
Among the fishing that stands out in this town there are fish such as dorado, tuna, sierra, mahi mahi, wahoo, marlin, red snapper, snapper, juriel, sawfish, grouper or grouper, shrimp, lobster and oysters, sailfish, roosterfish , pretty among other species.
Night life
The nightlife in Sayulita is very active. Multiple parties and nightclubs take place every weekend. It is a tradition "coconut Fridays": every Friday after midnight there is a party at the "cocos" beach club with music to dance to.
How to get
To get to Sayulita, take the federal highway 200 Tepic-Vallarta and approximately at "km 125" there is the detour that takes you to the town of Sayulita on a paved road. Located 38 km from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, Sayulita can be reached by public or private transportation.
