Vallarta-Nayarit Gastronomy boosts tourism and the local economy

The Mayor Luis Munguía highlighted the impact of this event on the promotion of tourism and the culinary wealth of Puerto Vallarta.


The 16th edition of Vallarta-Nayarit Gastronómica consolidates Puerto Vallarta as an internationally renowned culinary epicenter. This event brings together renowned chefs, mixologists, sommeliers and experts from around the world, as well as representatives of local gastronomy, who showcase their innovative culinary offerings.

Mayor Luis Munguía led the inauguration, stressing that this celebration not only exalts the region's gastronomy, but also reinforces local culture and traditions. "Gastronomy is a universal language that unites people and reflects our identity," Munguía said.

He also highlighted that this event is a powerful tool for promoting Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas as first-class tourist destinations, by attracting international visitors with unique culinary experiences. This translates into an important economic boost for the region. The president recognized the efforts of the organizing team, led by Carlos Elizondo and Consuelo Elipe, for making this platform possible.

Vallarta-Nayarit Gastronómica takes place from October 11 to 18 and features the participation of authorities from Jalisco, Nayarit, Guanajuato, Querétaro and Spain, as well as chefs from 14 countries and students from 18 states of Mexico. According to the organizers, the event is expected to surpass the 5,000 room-nights generated in the previous edition, which predicts an excellent economic impact for the region.
