We are not referring to the Spanish city and capital of Galicia, Santiago de Compostela, but to a charming town in Mexico that is well worth a visit.<\/p>\n<p>Compostela is part of the magical towns of Mexico and its full name is\u00a0<strong>Villa of Santiago de Galicia de Compostela de Indias<\/strong>. Indeed, it is a city colonized by the Spanish Empire that belonged to the former province of Nueva Galicia. Founded in 1530 by Nu\u00f1o Beltr\u00e1n de Guzm\u00e1n, it had previously been inhabited by the indigenous peoples of the Mazatl\u00e1n se\u00f1or\u00edos.<\/p>\n<p>The name of this Magical Town located 48 km from the Mexican Pacific in the Riviera Nayarit is a tribute to the city of Santiago de Compostela in Spain; reason why it is considered as a real city. This corner of the Riviera Nayarit has great natural wealth, with historical and cultural monuments of great value, and with dream beaches around it (something that its Spanish sister will surely envy) that have some of the best luxury resorts in the world like the future One &amp; Only Mandarina, which will open its doors this fall.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-25802\" src=\"https:\/\/labahiamasbella.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Dise\u00f1o-sin-t\u00edtulo-17-1030x579-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1030\" height=\"579\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>What to visit in Compostela?<\/h4>\n<p>Some of the places of interest in Compostela are the parish of Santo Santiago Ap\u00f3stol, the El Molino pool, the Santana pool and the railway station or the ruins of the Miravalles hacienda.<\/p>\n<p>The Compostela Museum is another of the recommended visits. It currently has a dense archaeological and historical collection of the city and displays everything from ceramic or metallurgical objects that account for pre-Hispanic Nayarit, as well as maps, photographs, weapons and other objects that narrate the historical processes of this region of the kingdom of &quot;Nueva Galicia&quot;. \u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Compostela is also located less than an hour from some of the best beaches in the Mexican Pacific. One of the most popular is Guayabitos, from which we can tour the entire Riviera Nayarit coast; Sayulita, San Pancho, Bucerias, San Blas or Nuevo Vallarta.
