Years later the Ejido de Puerto Vallarta was born.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><!--more--><\/h4>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">December paints its mark on the <a href=\"https:\/\/labahiamasbella.com\/en\/historia-de-puerto-vallarta\/\">historical evolution of our tourist destination<\/a>. We immediately list the most relevant facts, consigned by the second Official Chronicler of the City, Don Carlos Mungu\u00eda Fregoso, in his valuable book &quot;<a href=\"https:\/\/sic.cultura.gob.mx\/ficha.php?table=fondo_editorial&amp;table_id=4461\">Historic Panorama of Puerto Vallarta and the Bay of Banderas<\/a>\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">In the story &quot;Rancho las Pe\u00f1as&quot;: Puerto Vallarta in posterity<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">December 12, 1851 is the officially recognized date of the founding of the Las Pe\u00f1as ranch, the first name of Puerto Vallarta, by Don Guadalupe S\u00e1nchez, family and a group of friends. On December 16, 1869, the deputies of Jalisco asked the Government of the Republic to authorize the port of Las Pe\u00f1as for high-altitude and cabotage trade.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8039 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/labahiamasbella.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/guadalupe-sanchez-torres.jpg\" alt=\"historia de Puerto Vallarta\" width=\"1280\" height=\"892\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Ignacio L Vallarta, notable from Jalisco<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Ignacio Luis Vallarta Ogaz\u00f3n was born on August 25, 1830 in the city of Guadalajara. He was Governor of Jalisco, Secretary of the Interior, Secretary of Foreign Relations, president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and candidate for the presidency of the Republic in 1880. His last name gave its name in 1918 to the well-known tourist center of Puerto Vallarta, which until then it was called Las Pe\u00f1as. On December 31, 1893, the lawyer Ignacio Luis Vallarta died in the capital of the Republic, after whose memory our municipality was named in 1918.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">On December 31, 1902, the Federal Government inaugurated the Cabo Corrientes lighthouse, for many years the most powerful on the Mexican coast and which came to facilitate navigation in this region of the Mexican Pacific. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">On December 5, 1929, the first endowment of land was made to the Commonwealth of Puerto Vallarta, as a result of the affectation of the La Uni\u00f3n mining company in Cuale. On December 3, 1931, the first aircraft arrived at this port, piloted by Mr. Charles Baugham, who was nicknamed \u201cPancho Pistolas\u201d here, due to his fondness for being armed. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">On December 12, 1951, with great festivities, the First Centenary of the Las Pe\u00f1as Foundation was celebrated.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8033\" src=\"https:\/\/labahiamasbella.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1.jpg\" alt=\"historia de Puerto Vallarta\" width=\"1280\" height=\"873\" \/>The Temple of Guadalupe, an icon of faith in Puerto Vallarta<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">In December 1965, the concrete crown was placed on the tower of the temple of Our Lady of Guadalupe, designed by the sculptor Esteban Ram\u00edrez Guare\u00f1o.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span lang=\"es-MX\">It is fair to remember that on December 4, 2005, Professor Carlos Mungu\u00eda Fregoso, a famous man from Puerto Vallarta, author of important volumes that represent the backbone of regional history, passed away.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Among the relevant activities in Puerto Vallarta during December, the festivities to Our Lady of Guadalupe stand out, which begin on the 1st, to culminate on the 12th.
