Golf continues to attract tourism to Puerto Vallarta

The spectacular golf courses - coupled with the attractions of the destination - have made it one of the favorites of players and fans of this sport.

Puerto Vallarta continues to position itself as one of the Mexican destinations with the greatest multi-segment offering, serving niches such as families, adults only, luxury, romance, golf, meeting tourism, medical, LGBTQ+, among others.

One of the most notable lately is precisely golf, which with four international-class courses in the destination and eleven in its metropolitan area, has made Puerto Vallarta one of the most visited beach destinations by those who practice this sport.

Several of these golf courses have been created by the most renowned designers, such as Joe Finger, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf and Greg Norman, all of them former professional golf players who now have distinguished careers designing and building courses.

In this regard, Luis Villasenor, director of the municipal Tourism Trust, said: “without a doubt Puerto Vallarta has established itself as one of the main golf destinations in the country, proof of this is that we have hosted the PGA tour with the Mexico Open at Vidanta for three consecutive years, being able to enjoy the best professional golf on our coasts.”

In addition to golf, players find a destination full of attractions and first-class tourist infrastructure, with paradisiacal beaches, green mountains, luxury hotels, typical architecture, more than 2,000 restaurants, multiple art galleries and endless outdoor activities. free for the whole family, which consolidates Puerto Vallarta as the most complete destination in the country.

PROMOTION OF THE DESTINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

To make all these benefits known, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust maintains a work agenda focused on this sector. Such is the case of the participation last March in the AG Dallas Golf Expo, where the destination and its golf courses were promoted to more than 5,000 attendees.

Accompanying the delegation was Grupo Velas, which promoted its two properties in Puerto Vallarta - Velas Vallarta and Casa Velas - offering packages with hotel and rounds of golf at the Vista Vallarta and Marina Vallarta golf courses. These attractive packages included all-inclusive hotel nights and rounds of golf.

In addition to this, the places, tourist attractions, restaurants and tours that players can enjoy during their visit to the destination were promoted.
