Methodology

This ranking has been made by Holidu, the vacation home search engine, based on the number of hashtags used on Instagram. The data was collected in July 2021 (at the time of reading, the figures may already be different). Holidu investigated more than 390 beaches in the Mexican Republic. Only the hashtags of the beaches that featured more than 80% of the beach photos in the feed were included. The most common hashtag structure we use is: #nameofthedestination or #nameofthebeach. In some cases we have deviated from this norm, to ensure that we obtain meaningful results. This data collection resulted in the 10 most used hashtags in Mexico to mention beach destinations.
