El Vallartense, a gastronomic experience in the Pata Salada style

From the sea to the table. This family restaurant has become one of the favorites of local and foreign people, for enjoying that unique Vallarta atmosphere.

When they ask you "Where do they serve typical Vallarta food?" You inevitably think of “El Vallartense”. A restaurant where the simple becomes exemplary and you can enjoy a gastronomic experience in the style salty leg.

The place always has live music from a singer, band or mariachi. Yes, very nice and Mexican style.

The location is unmatched, both for people who live in Puerto Vallarta and those who come from Bahía de Banderas.

This traditional restaurant is sheltered by two huge Parota trees, which in addition to giving it cool shade, give it a very local touch.

El Vallartense is an ideal place for families. There is a safe, outdoor children's area with bounce houses and playground equipment, which becomes essential if you have small children.

The true culinary experience begins when the waiter brings you, as a courtesy of the house, a small glass of fish broth to calm your hunger, while you review the menu.

A varied menu for everyone's taste

The menu at El Vallartense is very well organized. The appetizers are very delicious, from French fries to the traditional fish ceviche or Marlin toast. You can't miss the Guacamole with tortilla chips. But this time we ordered some Chicken Wings and Boneless, which have become diners' favorites and which we ordered to prove it.

On other occasions my appetite goes for a cocktail or a shrimp aguachile, which also draws sighs. But today, in my choice, the traditional Zarandeado fish definitely won, and by the way there is a whole ritual that begins from the moment you choose it in the kitchen.

The catch of the day can offer you a wide variety of fish. However, a kilo and a half “snapper” was the one that stole all my attention. The flavor that firewood gives it with its characteristic marinade makes it the most requested dish to satisfy even the most demanding appetite. It comes accompanied by Pico de gallo, homemade rice, bean tacos, tortillas, lemon and salsa to taste.

To my surprise, no more than 15 minutes passed and my shaken fish was already on my table, to the sound of Mariachi loco. This dish is super well served. It was practically enough for me and 3 other family members who accompanied me, and we even ordered what was left to take away... To close with a flourish, don't miss their dessert menu, flan, cake or Cheese cake. This last one stole my heart.

Affordable prices with first-class service

There are many places to eat seafood and fish in the city, but eating at El Vallartense is truly eating Vallarta style. You don't have to worry about parking. There are always enough tables, a family atmosphere, a children's area, and affordable prices with first-class service.

Highly recommended, El Vallartense is a warm and friendly place, as we Mexicans are; as is the Vallarta at heart.
