Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio) is the young maid of a family living in Colonia Roma, a middle-class neighborhood of Mexico City. In this letter of love to the women who raised him, Cuarón is inspired by his own childhood to paint a realistic and emotive portrayal of domestic conflicts and social hierarchies during the political turmoil of the 70s decade.
