The great Christ is carved in red cedar wood. For more than 25 years and from the heights it has welcomed all who visit its rooms with open arms. The history of the second most visited Parish begins in 1946…

It was in the year 1946, when 10 residents of Pitillal together with the priest Rafael Parra Castillo assigned San Miguel Arcángel as patron of the temple. The first stone of the church of San Miguel Arcángel was placed on January 24, 1977, by the fifth Bishop of the Diocese of Tepic, Adolfo Suárez Rivera. Its construction was completed on September 20, 1989, with Mr. J. Isabel Meza Sendiz as master of the work. The image of the Risen Jesus arrived at the church on February 15, 1992, made in Santa Anita, Jalisco, carved by Juan José Méndez, it measures 4.92 meters and weighs 980 kilograms.
