The only piece of public space in Puerto Vallarta that opens completely to the sea is the Pier, composed of a promenade parallel to the sea located in the center of the city. Its construction dates back to 1925 when, after the passage of a devastating hurricane, its construction was suggested as a retaining wall. With the passage of time and after successive construction stages, it would reach the size it currently has. and would be an iconic reference to this day.

But perhaps the most emblematic space of all was the Carlos O'Brians. Was located at the corner of Pípila street and Paseo Díaz Ordaz, which is now pedestrianized. Its popularity was earned by the freshness of its proposal, where all attendees were treated with the same fervor and interest, without discriminating age, social position or gender. “Carlos”, as we popularly called it, was the place par excellence to start the party, meet artists, athletes and famous people or with friends and family.
