The Vallarta Nayarit Gala, an event that brings together hotels with wholesalers in the tourism sector, celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2019. The welcome cocktail was at the luxurious Mozzamare beach club.
Twenty-five years ago, the Hotel Association had the initiative to create the Vallarta Nayarit Gala. This is an event that brings together hotels with wholesalers in the tourism sector.
The activities of the 2019 edition of this important business meeting formally began on Monday, February 11 at 8:00 am. The official opening ceremony took place at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center. There, the ribbon cutting was carried out by government authorities and representatives of business associations.
At night, the organizers offered a great cocktail for all the participants of Gala Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit. The place chosen was the luxurious Mozzamare beach club from the Marival Residences Luxury Resort hotel, dressed in a pirate theme.
The evening began at 8:00 p.m. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with welcome drinks and offered clothing and accessories to dress up as pirates. Once disguised, they went to the central esplanade of Mozzamare where they were offered cocktails around a large flaming brazier. A live band enlivened the moment.
The place offered several scenes alluding to the theme of pirates. The audience spent pleasant moments taking selfies with their costumes. They posed in front of some huge letters with the word "GALA" in the center of the place, which became a favorite place for group photos of the memory.
Mozzamare, the perfect setting
The Mozzamare beach club became the perfect setting for the entertaining opening cocktail of the Gala Vallarta-Nayarit. In this way, the event that brings together wholesalers with hoteliers and different tourist service providers allowed them to coexist and enjoy.
The night continued with live music on a large stage, with delicious snacks and open bar drinks for all attendees. One of the moments that generated expectation was the approach of the pirate ship “Marigalante”, who changed his usual nocturnal route to the Puerto Vallarta Boardwalk to pass in front of this event.
Immediately, in front of the stage, a show of pirates, corsairs, beautiful ladies and mermaids began. The choreographies simulated wrestling, dancing, and culminated in a fire show.
After the presentation, the host of the event, Reggie Paulk, Public Relations Manager of Marival Residences Luxury Resort, greeted the public and gave the floor to special guests. They spoke:
- Jesús Carmona, president of the Bahía de Banderas Association of Hotels and Motels
- Álvaro Garciarce, president of the Puerto Vallarta Hotel and Motel Association
- Ana Cecilia Llanos, Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit
- Willehaldo Saavedra, President of the Jalisco Ministry of Tourism
- Ramón González, Director of Tourism for Puerto Vallarta;
- Jaime Cuevas Tello, municipal president of Bahía de Banderas.
At the end of the interventions of these personalities, a fireworks show began.
Fireworks lit up the night and a large sign reading “Gala 2019” lit up on the stage. Then, the musicians resumed their participation and the celebration for the twenty-fifth anniversary of Gala Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit continued.
Record trade agreements
The activities continued the following days at the Puerto Vallarta Convention Center. Around 1,300 business appointments were made between 96 hotels and 89 national and international wholesalers. In total, 32% more than in 2018.
This year, partners from Mexico, Canada, the United States, Spain and England participated. Companies from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay were also received. In total there were 16 participating countries.
Without a doubt, after 25 years, the GALA Vallarta-Nayarit has established itself as one of the most anticipated events of the year for the tourism sector in the region.
