The Dama Juana Raicilla Festival returns to Vallarta

From March 13 to 15 on the island of the Cuale River, Puerto Vallarta will hold for the fourth consecutive year, a festival dedicated to the Raicilla.There are drinks that transcend places and times. La Raicilla is one of them and Puerto Vallarta will be celebrating once again in honor of La Raicilla. The fourth edition of the Dama Juana Festival has prepared an intense program full of gastronomy, art and culture, where this traditional drink, which in recent times has become a favorite for Mexicans and foreigners, will be the protagonist.

The production of the Raicilla in the state of Jalisco, has given much to talk about in Mexico and the world. Its flavor is very special and has managed to captivate the palate of both Mexicans and foreigners. This year our city brings together 15 traditional producers and 5 brands from the Costa Alegre and the mountains. The celebration integrates a one hundred percent family program with free admission, in which there will be talks, a charra parade, a painting exhibition, poetry, concerts, mixology and gastronomy. Without a doubt, an interesting cultural exchange between Puerto Vallarta, Mascota and Cabo Corrientes; main municipalities in the state that produce this magical drink.

The activities will officially begin this Friday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m., on the island of the Cuale River, with the Inaugural Gala, which will consist of the talk 'Conversation between Master Raicilleros and the Chroniclers of Puerto Vallarta, Manuel Gómez Encarnación, and from Bahía de Banderas, Eduardo Gómez Encarnación.

In addition to the delivery of recognitions to the 'Raicillera Tradition', the presentation of the mariachi Navidad and the courtesy cocktail prepared with two hands by the executive chef of the Tintoque restaurant, Joel Ornelas and Juan Jorge Cortés, owner of the Pajaritos restaurant, and the raicilla will be in charge of 'Arre Corazón' by chef Memo Wulff.

Music and talk and history 

There will be different talks about the origin and history of the Raicilla in different universities of the city. And for Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th, starting at 11:00 in the morning on the Isla del Cuale, there will be a pleasant day where, in addition to tasting and being able to buy this drink, there will be a great musical program with the presence the first day of Marimba Versatil, Grupo Tajín (Latin American music), La Querendona Banda Manantial, the Hobbie Collective (Reggae) and Bobui (Indie Rock).
