First National Tourism Forum

More than 50 technological and polytechnic universities and more than 30 experts will debate and analyze the future of tourism, with the Technological University of Bahía de Banderas as its headquarters.
On September 28, 29 and 30, Riviera Nayarit It will be the headquarters of the First National Tourism Forum 2020 -Virtual Edition- in which 53 Technological and Polytechnic Universities of the country participate.
The forum will be broadcast from the Bahía de Banderas Technological University (UT) and will bring together professors, researchers and professionals from the tourism sector with the same purpose: to analyze the current situation and future perspectives of tourism in Mexico.
According to information provided by the UT, the meeting's main objectives are to contribute to the strategic development of higher education with a view to the new university model, through a series of proposals from tourism experts.
Expert panelists
To this end, 13 work tables will be set up in which prestigious national and international panelists will participate, including Lourdes Berho, former director of the defunct Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico; John McCarthy, former CEO of Fonatur and partner at Leisure Partners; Yndira Castillo del Ángel, Academic and Development Coordinator of Technological and Polytechnic Universities.
Likewise, the municipal president of Bahía de Banderas, Dr. Jaime Alonso Cuevas Tello, will serve as hosts; the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Nayarit, Lic. Antonio Riojas; and the Secretary of Economy of the State of Nayarit, Eng. Ernesto Navarro González.
Businessmen Alfonso Rizzuto, president of Grupo Marival, will also contribute their knowledge and experience; Dr. Jorge Villanueva, president of the Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas Business Association (AEBBA) and chef Betty Vázquez, Ambassador of Riviera Nayarit Gastronomy and Judge at the reality Master Chef kitchen, among others.
Work panels
There will also be two work panels: “Public policies and new challenges of tourism”, which will be moderated by Master José Armando García Nuño, general director of Tourism Planning and will have the participation of deputy Luis Alegre Salazar, president of the Tourism Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, and “Future job skills of the Tourism graduate”, moderated by Dr. Herminio Baltazar Cisneros, general coordinator of the UTyP; with the participation of Lic. Gustavo Bolio Gómez, president of the Management Committee by competencies of the Tourism Sector; Mr. Alfonso Rizzuto, president of Grupo Marival, and Lic. José Antonio Ayala, general director.

It should be noted that this will be the first event that the Hotel Escuela of the Technological University of Bahía de Banderas will host. The 5-Star category hotel has as its concept its same didactic function where it is intended to involve guests in the teaching-learning processes of future tourism professionals, allowing an approach to real situations during the completion of their studies.
