The Destination will have an outstanding participation in the XXVI Festival Gourmet International, which will take place from November 12 to 20, 2021 in Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Tepic.

The gastronomy of Riviera Nayarit will be present at the 2021 International Gourmet Festival, "The Greatest Gourmet Tradition of Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Tepic", which will take place from November 12 to 20 in these three meeting points for lovers of good food.

The XXVI edition of the event founded by the internationally renowned chef Thierry Blouet, has generated great expectations after it was suspended last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and is being rescued thanks to the support of sponsors and participating restaurants.

This year ten Nayarit restaurants are participating, eight of these located in the Riviera Nayarit and two in the city of Tepic; These are: Carolina from The St. Regis Punta Mita hotel; Divum Signature Gourmet from the Marival Armony hotel; Hector's Kitchen Punta de Mita; Hill 42 Bay; Pacific Beach Club Punta Mita; Spice Market at the W Punta de Mita hotel; Tukipa from the Imanta Resorts hotel; Tuna Blanca by Café des Artistes; Emiliano Food and Wine, and Loma 42 Tepic.

Teamwork

Jesús Carmona, president of the Banderas Bay Hotel and Motel Association and the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau, congratulated the founder of #FGI26 for his perseverance, passion and great love for this region.

“Gastronomy is synonymous with sharing, delighting the soul through food, living with the people we care about. Twenty-six years is easy to say, but it's a lifetime. We are all here, supporting your work, and this festival is further proof that working together pays off. We must not lose focus, we must all continue working together,” he said.

The fact that travelers come to the Riviera Nayarit to have a gastronomic experience, in addition to the natural beauties, the infrastructure and the services it offers, helps to raise the level of competitiveness of the Destination and encourages it to continue innovating in the search for new flavors, without losing the essence of Nayarit cuisine.

"Events such as the International Gourmet Festival imply for Riviera Nayarit and for the state of Nayarit, an important economic benefit, in addition to the great diffusion that occurs in local, national and international media," he pointed out.

Thierry Blouet, founder of the FGI, pointed out that this is already one of the most outstanding culinary events in Mexico, allowing the promotion of Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit and Tepic destinations internationally.

He informed that this year a very interesting program has been prepared, which, as is now a tradition, will merge the trajectory and dishes of local chefs with the experience and recipes of guest chefs in a combination that enriches what is offered to diners.

In total there will be 27 participating restaurants and 29 guest chefs -in addition to the local ones-. The invited chefs will be in charge of the kitchen of one of the participating restaurants during the 10 days of the event and will implement a special menu of their creation, in addition to the traditional menu of the place.

Among the invited chefs will be Carlos Gaytán and Ramsés Navarro, who are the only Mexican chefs, so far, to obtain a Michelin star.
