The Arena Vallarta, one of the most spectacular spaces in Mexico dedicated to National sport par excellence, opened its doors for the eighth time for the "cream and cream" of charrería, which today is an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. It is the Puerto Vallarta International Charro Championship, attended by 32 of the best teams in the world, 20 of them Mexican and 12 from the neighboring United States.

The tournament, which dates back to 2001, is held in Puerto Vallarta with the participation of the best exponents of the sport.

It also takes place in one of the most spectacular sports arenas in Mexico.

Every year everything starts with a traditional festival in the city boardwalk, place where mariachis, charros and their horses go. There are also folkloric dances, embraced by the most Mexican drink, tequila. This opening starts the tournament and invites locals and visitors to the destination to enjoy the national sport par excellence.

This year it was held from Thursday, January 31 to Sunday, February 3. There was an approximate prize pool of two million pesos, as well as 25 teams from Escaramuzas Charras. An economic income for the destination of around 40 million pesos was achieved, with an investment of the event close to five million.

That's right, the sport of charrería, in addition to being an important bastion of tourism in Mexico, allows to show the culture, uses and customs, traditions, and joy to the foreigner thanks to the Vallarta tourist destination. It also unites the Mexican families of the most Mexican destination in a four-day event of activities.

The space is simply spectacular. It is close to the city, and offers a great amount of history of the region, having an environment with various Jalisco towns of vast culture. It is the Arena Vallarta, a region steeped in charrería in Mexico.

During the days of charro activities, the Arena Vallarta offers various cultural activities, as well as artisan trade of great national recognition. All the work of the great Mexican artists on rural themes is exhibited. The music plays at all times with mariachis and live bands, and of course the best of charrería, the march of the national champion team, Tres Potrillos de los “Fernández”.

The next event will be the Show Charro in the middle of the year.

During the days of the event, the place receives about 15 thousand people. With a paid ticket, they have the opportunity to be entered in a raffle for a car on Sunday night.

There are seven editions in which the vehicle has left the region only twice. The rest have been for locals. This circumstance causes strong interest in attending, coupled with the extraordinary show that takes place in the arena.

The next edition will be for one week, as well as the Show Charro in the middle of the year. will merge the gastronomy with the national sport in Puerto Vallarta: a unique event of its kind that soon everyone will be able to enjoy.
