The dancers celebrated their 25th anniversary. They have represented Puerto Vallarta nationally and internationally. They always raised the name of Mexico, its culture and its tradition.
The mayor of the city Arturo Davalos awarded recognitions to the youth and children of the Xiutla Folkloric Group, which under the direction of Professor Enrique Barrios y Limon, demonstrate in each of their choreographies, their dedication and professionalism on stage, and the love for the folklore of his country.
This great celebration also served to raise funds that allow young people to travel to the Tarahumara region, in Chihuahua. The trip, as part of their training, will take place in July.
The gala began with the presentation of 'Bolero de Ravel', choreographed by maestro Luis Montero and directed by professor Enrique Barrios. The young people offered a top quality show, where the elegance, synchrony and talent of their steps earned the recognition of the public.
Acknowledgments to sponsors and dancers of the Xiutla Folkloric Group
They would follow him on stage, the prints of the state of Chiapas of La tortuga and El Jabalí. These were the first dances organized by the teacher in 1994, when this folkloric group was founded. The states of Jalisco and Veracruz were also present. They closed the night with the premiere of 'Zamba' and the incursion of these young people into salsa.
As part of this anniversary, awards were given to the sponsors who made this celebration possible. Among them was the Puerto Vallarta City Council. Recognitions were also granted to four of the young dancers for their seniority within the company. The list included the brothers Manuel and Fernando Ibarra Bobadilla, aged 9; Mariana López Camberos, with 11 years of experience and Selena Sandoval Rubio, with 16. Some presents were also delivered to managers of this municipal group.
