The Surf tournament in Riviera Nayarit: «A una quila». The event will take place from May 28 to June 3, 2021 at El Anclote beach, in an exclusive edition for Mexicans.
The Riviera Nayarit beaches continue to be favorites for fans of this spectacular sport. El Ancolte beach will host the Classic El Anclote Punta de Mita “One keel”, a tournament of surfing in long table mode (longboard) . It will be held from May 28 to June 3, 2021 at the El Anclote beach.
The event is presented by Mictlan Surf and endorsed by the Mexican Surfing Federation and the Nayarit State Surfing Association (Asenay). It will bring together both athletes and industry suppliers, in an exclusive edition for Mexicans.
There will be a prize pool valued at $159,201 Mexican pesos. ANDThis may be distributed among the participants up to eighth place in the Open Classic Longboard category, Men's and Women's branches.
The best result of the first and second round will get its place in the Mexico Log Fest. One of the most important events of the longboarding world classic, which will take place from June 4 to 13, 2021 in Punta Burros.
The beaches of the bay are open and livelier than ever
Among the objectives of the tournament is the diffusion and support of the surfing with a keel in Mexico. Also the promotion of economic development of its inhabitants, after the pandemic, reported Juan Villa, from the organizing committee.
It is known that the state of Nayarit is a "seedbed" of surfers and paddlers with incredible qualities. This destination is recognized for the quality of events of this nature. It has been the cradle of athletes who have become the first, representing Mexico in the 2013 ISA SUP World Cup in Peru, where they won the team bronze medal and where Fernando Stalla won another individual medal.
Longboard, a surfing with old school style
The traditional Longboard is the art of surfing with style. Its grace lies in the use of boards of no less than nine feet (2.74 meters), without leash (strap), weighing more than 5.44 kg, and with only a central keel of at least nine inches. It is basically the same style of the tables used in the 60s.
